An Arizona native, I was fortunate to grow up exposed to a great deal of art and consequently was particularly
drawn to abstract art at an early age. What began as experimentation in the '70s is still a passionate exploration
of inner thoughts, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional. The creative process, as I experience it, is a mix of openness
to the widest possible degree: my thoughts, emotions, spiritual senses are all allowed to flow freely, while paradoxically
forcing myself to focus on the process of painting while I do it. The completed work, if successful, will
engender similar emotions and spiritual states in the viewer, but in the viewer's own emotional and spiritual vocabulary.
I work primarily with acrylic on canvas.
